About Us

On January 2, 2007, Noran Tel was acquired by Westell Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of telecommunications products. 

As our two new companies begin to work together we will be able to bring each others technology and products to new customers in new markets throughout North America.

Noran Tel was originally established in 1985. It was initially formed to provide products and installation services to Saskatchewan Telecommunications. In 1987, Noran Tel created an R & D Department that began development of new and innovative products. Many of the products that Noran Tel has designed grew from an ongoing or pending problem that the telephone company required a solution for.

Westell-Noran Tel continues to invest heavily in its R & D Department focusing on the design and production of new, leading edge products. It has committed itself to remaining a company that is driven by its customers needs.

Major Achievements

  • Westell-Noran Tel was the first in the industry to provide an Anti-streaming Circuit for Data Station Termination. This feature provides an inexpensive solution to a major problem with multi-point data circuits.
  • Westell-Noran Tel was the first Canadian company to provide installer friendly power distribution products.
  • Westell-Noran Tel has received many vendor quality awards from their customers for excellence in products and service.
  • Westell-Noran Tel has successfully penetrated potential markets throughout Canada and USA. The products more than meet the needs of the telecommunication industry worldwide and the company is now very actively looking to expand business around the world.

Along with our Quality principles, and sister programs like "C4L" ("Customers for Life"), a program that strives to build strong customer loyalties through exceptional service, with the goal to "never lose a customer", Westell-Noran Tel's focus is targeted directly on customer satisfaction.

Our Quality Management System was audited by QMI™ and was found to be in compliance with ISO 9001:2000, and thus our management system was registered on May 28, 2002. Since then, Westell-Noran Tel has been continually monitoring and improving its quality processes and products, as well as receiving annual third party audits, maintaining the registration of our quality managment system.
